I, like most of the BMX world, am taken aback by the death of Mike Tag. I didn't know Mike personally but was fortunate enough to have met him at Interbike in the late 90's. We spent almost the whole day slapping "Mother Fucking FBM" stickers on high-end road bikes. Aside from that meeting, the Mike I knew came across the screen on the videos my friends and I grew up on. 1201, Ring of Fire and many of the Props videos showed us a side of BMX that was often hidden by the polished pages of the magazines. Mike and the rest of the FBM and Shitluck crews showed us, with little regard for personal safety, that it was okay to have fun and enjoy this thing we all love so much. Mike Tag is BMX.
